Warriors 8U Team Gives Back to Community for the Holidays
Updated: Jan 19, 2019

At the Houston Warriors Baseball Academy, we obviously focus on the game of baseball, but as instructors and coaches, we want to give our athletes and community more. We aim to instill character, manners and leadership traits that will help carry them through life as they leave our program to become college or professional athletes, business professionals or community leaders.
A great example of this are the efforts of our coaching staff and families of the Warriors 8U team.
The Warriors 8U team is a great example of what it means to be a Warrior...
Over the 2018 holiday season, our 8U Warrior team participated in some extraordinary programs throughout the community. On Thanksgiving morning, they volunteered at Operation Turkey, an organization that helps deliver over 50,000 meals to those in need. They boys spent the better part of the morning sorting, prepping, cooking, packing and delivering these meals.

For Christmas, the 8U Warriors team and their families partnered with Hopes Path, an organization that provides a home for young men that have aged out of foster care. The boys got to host a holiday meal and share gifts with these young men. The boys did more than just deliver gifts, as they bonded with these young men over football, pool, chess, basketball, video games, and wife ball.

We would like to thank the #8U Coaches: Genaro "G" Grijalva, Tommy Fonseca, Bobby DeDear, Jay Rodriguez and Javier Cordova, and everyone else involved in these wonderful Warrior outings! It is teams like yours that helps keep and raise that standard of excellence so high!
