Sizing Up Catcher's Equipment

We get asked this question quite often, "How do we know what size equipment to get our son?" We are here to help out! Below will be a description and information on how to assure your athlete is protected accordingly!

Traditional Mask Sizing:

For the most accurate sizing, it is recommended to use the players hat size, found by measuring the circumference of the player's head.

The mask should fit snug!

Chest Protector Sizing + Fitting:

Most chest protectors are measured from the top of the sternum to a players naval.

Depending on chest protector models, they are typically available in 9, 13, 14.5, 15.5 and 16.5 inch lengths. If the player measures in between chest protector lengths, it is recommended to select the longer length.

The chest protector should fit high, with the throat guard over the base of the neck.

Leg Guard Sizing + Fitting:

Best done while seated, measure from center of player's knee cap to the top of the players cleats.

Depending on leg guard models, they are typically available in 10.5, 11.5, 12.5, 13, 14.5, 15.5 and 16.5 inch lengths. If the player measures in between leg guard lengths it is recommended to select the longer length.
